Volunteer Opportunities
Safe Harbor was founded by a group of concerned citizens in 1992 in response to the plight of homeless people who were routinely sleeping on the Courthouse steps and around the downtown area of West Chester. We continue to effectively serve the homeless with both volunteers and professional staff. From preparing and serving meals, to working with our residents in the shelter, volunteers account for over half the time dedicated to helping people who come to us seeking shelter and rehabilitation.

Our Safe Harbor Golf Classic fundraiser wll be taking place on Monday, October 18th at Chester Valley Golf Club in Malvern and there are spots available from 10am-6pm. If you or anyone you know might be interested in volunteering at our registration table, golf contests or art sale, please go to: Safe Harbor Golf Fundraiser Sign Up

In-Person Events
Would you and your co-workers like to raise money for Safe Harbor? As a private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization we must raise the majority of our funds through grants, mailings, donations, and events.  It truly takes a village, and with your help we can continue to provide much needed shelter, food and services to many single men and single women each year.  Help us by conducting a fundraiser in person (safely of course!) Examples for this are a craft sale, bake sale, bowl-a-thon, 5k walk/run, to help raise money for Safe Harbor. If your neighborhood, school, university, faith-based organization or other group that you are affiliated with gives you the opportunity to conduct fundraisers on site, this will be a wonderful way to involve the community and support a great cause. Please follow local safety guidelines for

Create a Virtual Fundaiser!

Anything from a simple Jeans for a Cause (for example, each person pays $5 to wear jeans at work) to a Virtual Fundraiser such as a Virtual Coffee Break, Virtual Concert, Online Dinner Party, Online Auction, Virtual Race, Virtual Movie with a film that’s linked to theme of homelessness, a Virtual Class or Workshop (i.e. crafting, baking), we would very much appreciate your efforts in helping Safe Harbor raise funds.
