2018 Annual Safe Harbor Golf Outing

I think it is fair to say that, “the 2018 annual Safe Harbor golf Classic was a huge success!”  First off, the weather was tremendous! On October 1st, 2018 it was sunny and in the eighties with no rain in sight! This was a big relief to event organizers since it had rained the entire previous week. Golfers began arriving at the Chester Valley Golf Club, located in Malvern, PA around 10 am for a noon-time shotgun start. It was great to see all of their excitement at the registration. This was the first time the Annual Safe Harbor Golf Classic had been held at Chester Valley Golf Club. Clearly, its reputation as being a challenging, yet fun course was on the mind of each golfer. Because you could overhear their conversations with friends and co-workers discussing how much they have been looking forward to playing there.
Along with playing golf, there were other fun events players could participate in. Like the “floating green” and “putting” contest. The day was full of good friends, good times and great golf! Then as the day transitioned to night everyone was led into the beautiful Chester Valley ballroom for cocktails and dinner. As participants were enjoying a (very) delicious meal, members of the Safe Harbor Board of Directors spoke to the audience. The President of our Safe Harbor Board of Directors, Mr. Dawson Richardson spoke about the incredible growth of Safe Harbor and his vision for the future. CEO Judy Jeffords-Homitz shared some amazing success stories about some of the Safe Harbor residents. Mr. Jim Wenke, VP of the Board, did an awesome job of hosting the nights’ events and I would be remiss if Jim wasn’t given an official “shout-out” for organizing the 2018 Annual Safe Harbor Golf Outing. Also, a nod must go to Board member Jeannine McCullough for her efforts with the sponsorships and signage! I think it is easy to say that we are looking forward to 2019’s Annual Safe Harbor Golf Classic and that none of these would ever be successful with you! You, the donors, patrons, and supporters of Safe Harbor’s mission.
